Description
Our pioneering winemaker, Tom McDonald (1907 - 1987) dramatically elevated the quality of winemaking in Hawke's Bay. His lifelong dedication to crafting fine wines helped establish the superb reputation that the region and Church Road are known for. Church Road honours Tom's legacy with an unwavering commitment to pushing the quality boundaries of Hawke's Bay winemaking.Grown on gravel soils in Hawke’s Bays’ warmest sub regions, these vineyards typically produce rich Merlot displaying dark plum and berry fruit. This is complimented by subtle notes of violet, spice, earthy undertones and hints of dark chocolate. The palate is full and supple with a long, fine grained finish. For quality reasons this wine is unfiltered and decanting is recommended.
